Saucepans: Prepare sauces and more

Saucepans are small pots that have a large bottom surface and a high rim. They are particularly suitable for reducing sauces. The long handle ensures easy and comfortable handling when stirring. You can also heat food in saucepans. This works best if you had a metal or glass lid. Even stews can be prepared in an oven-safe saucepan with a lid.

The high-quality saucepans from Fissler are made of up to 90% recycled 18/10 stainless steel and are the optimal choice if you are looking for a multifunctional pot that allows you to reduce liquids easily.

Handy and multifunctional: Saucepans

A saucepan is a versatile piece of cookware. A hybrid of a pot and a pan, it allows you to stir-fry and boil down liquids as well as sear and heat meat, vegetables, and other pan-fried dishes.

Mix sauces, porridge, or creams

Saucepans are ideal for preparing sauces, porridge, or creams. The long handle is easy to grip, even at high cooking temperatures, and provides a secure hold so that you can comfortably hold and stir with the whisk at the same time.

Fissler saucepans have different handles, depending on the model:

  • Stay-Cool metal handle (Original-Profi Collection®): The solidly crafted handle maintains a comfortable handle temperature (<50°C) for an above-average length of time when used on a standard household stove. The heat-insulating transition between the body of the pot and the handle plate provides additional safety.
  • Stainless steel handle with heat buffer (Bonn): Silicone rings reduce the transfer of heat from the pot body to the handles. This keeps the handles pleasantly cool even when used on the stove for long periods.
  • Stainless steel handle (Hamburg): The heat-conducting properties of stainless steel ensure that the handle temperature always remains pleasantly cool.

Heat smaller portions

Thanks to the optimal or rapid heat absorption, distribution, and storage of the exclusive, energy-efficient CookStar® base of the Original-Profi Collection® saucepan or the Superthermic® base of the Bonn and Hamburg, small portions can be heated quickly and evenly - on any type of stove, including induction.

Sauté and braise food

For braising, saucepans and roasters or casserole pots are the ideal choice. Nevertheless, you can also sauté food in the casseroles from Fissler® and braise it in the oven. For this purpose, it is best to opt for a saucepan with a lid.

The condensation-plus function on the Original-Profi Collection® saucepan, which has a slightly concave curvature on the metal lid, allows condensed steam to drip back into the pot, making food even juicier and tastier.

Saucepan are not suitable for swirling food because of the steep rim. In this case, you should rather resort to a conical pan. Fissler also offers suitable products in this category.

  • Integrated measuring scale allows you to measure liquids without using a separate measuring cup.
  • Wide pouring rim makes it easy to pour and transfer liquids without dripping or spilling.
  • High rim helps to ensure that nothing splashes or overflows during the cooking process

The mixed form of pot and pan enables both mixing/boiling down and reducing sauces, preparing porridge or creams, and searing and heating meat, vegetables, and other pan dishes. Saucepans with lids that are oven-safe allow you to create braised recipes.

Saucepans are not suitable for swirling ingredients because of the steep rim. Instead, look for a conical pan.
